3 Ways to Reach Your Content Marketing Goals for 2014

Here are a few tips to help you achieve that:

1. Review Your Goals Regularly – It’s easy to lose control of your schedule and goals. Consistently reviewing them helps you stay on track and actually helps boost motivation. Create a system where you review your content marketing goals on a regular basis. You might review them every Sunday night before your official work week gets started.

2. Set Interesting Goals – If your content marketing goals bore you, you can bet they’re going to bore your audience. Set goals that you’re excited about. For example, publish 12 high profile guest blog posts, increase subscribers by 20%, create one viral video post each month or publish one custom infographic each month. (2013 was just the beginning of a boom in visual content. Videos, slide shows, and infographics will continue to be a high demand content format in 2014.)

3. Prioritize with Perspective – It’s important to know how your content is performing. Schedule time to review your analytics for the past week or month and evaluate how your content is being received. When you see growth in your traffic, clicks, and sales it’s much easier to stick to your content marketing schedule. Additionally, reviewing your analytics helps you gain perspective. You can then make changes to your goals and strategy in response to audience demand.
