With Canada Day coming tomorrow…and of course, American Independence Day on Monday, holidays are on my mind.
We always celebrate Canada Day with a barbecue with friends. Then being so close to the U.S. border, the kids are lucky enough to travel to Washington State with their grandparents to enjoy the fireworks and festivities on the 4th.
By the way, did you also know that July is “Hot Dog Month”? I know that information should be a real gem for you.
Outside of holidays being loads of fun, holidays and observances are perfect for planning and creating content and promotions surrounding them.

A few months ago, I was shopping for jeans and the sales person said, “You have a small waist like me,” and then proceeded to help me find the perfect pair for me. And they were perfect and one of my most favourite pairs of jeans for sure.
I left the store with a pair of great jeans and feeling great about myself. After all, I had a small waist…the dream of many women.
Fast-forward a few months later, it suddenly dawned on me what she was really saying when she told me I had a small waist. She was saying I had big hips! Instead of highlighting the negative, she chose to focus on my waist, which is small in comparison to my lady-like hips…
