Wow, I look away for a moment and it looks like it’s been a really busy week here at Contentrix.

Great tips and advice seem to be flying everywhere, that’s for sure.

On the other hand, it’s been a quiet week for PLR updates. However, there’s still great stuff to check out including some illustrated step-by-step tutorials and a special report from PLR Nook. Plus, there are only a few days to check out All Health Content’s Double Your Content special.

Now, let’s get to it… [Read more...]

Content Marketing Lessons From Rock Bands

I’ll admit it, I’m a bit of a ‘reality sitcom’ addict. One of my favorites is Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Now I call it a ‘sitcom’ because the stuff on it is so outrageous some of it has to be scripted, but that’s another article for another day!

What I want to talk about today is how I noticed some of the things Gene does to promote his rock band ‘Kiss’. It got me thinking about the music industry in general and how good they are at creating and promoting their content (the music).

So I’ve come up with what I think are some great content marketing lessons we can all learn from rock bands. Let’s jump right into it with the first lesson… [Read more...]

How Do I Get Started?

Here’s a really BIG question we received on our Contentrix Twitter account recently:

This was the first time I’d heard from Nichole, so I didn’t know if she was starting out completely fresh (i.e. needed a website) or if she just wanted help with content marketing. Generally speaking, we advise and help people who already have a web presence, whether it’s well-established or still in the development phases.

Her question made me realize there could be people trying to follow along who are at the very beginning stages of getting started. They don’t have a domain or a website and need the very basics.

If You’re a Very, Very Beginner

If you happen to be a complete beginner, we don’t cover those beginning basics at DIYplr or Contentrix, but I’d recommend this free profitable website building guide. That will take you through all the basics you need to know.

This free guide covers:

  • How to choose a name for your site.
  • Choosing a web host.
  • Designing your site.
  • Types of content you can create.
  • Tools to build your website.
  • Engaging your audience.
  • Optimizing your site for traffic.

…and more. Download it here.

If You’ve Got a Site, but Want to Heat Things Up with Content

Now, if you’ve got the basics set up and are working to grow what you’ve got, here are a few resources (all free) that might guide you in the right direction:

  • Free Profit with Content Guide: This guide will show you why content is so powerful and how to start using it in your business.
  • Free Content Outsourcing Guide: If you plan to hire help with creating your content, this guide will give you a good overview on how to approach it with profit in mind.
  • Free Profit with PLR Guide: If you’d like to save money and time on your content, this guide to using private label rights (PLR) content could prove helpful.

If you’re ever struggling, there are always resources to help and you can ask questions here. But the way to best results is to start doing stuff. There will be bumps in the road, but those are learning experiences that will help you achieve your goals.

What Do You Do Best?

Everyone always asks what your biggest struggle is, but rarely do people ask us to look at the positive things we bring to the table.

It’s important to understand our strengths because:

* We can maximize the benefits of them.

* We can focus on our strengths and hire/recruit someone to do the other stuff

* We can leverage this strength in forming partnerships that benefit from our strengths

In short, if you know what you’re good at, you’ll go far… [Read more...]

Creating Consistent Content

Create a habit for consistent content

Developing a strong following on your website begins with consistent content. The number of times that you post each day or week and the specific day that you choose to post your articles are not as important in creating consistency as simply posting on a regular basis. It is the consistent that readers will find reliable.

Consistency and procrastination have been waging war in my life since I was old enough to make a plan. I would have told you that procrastination has the winning percentage, but I recognized something as I was writing this article. Procrastination wins out when the things are important or what I want or need to do. Consistent always wins when cake is involved.

Forming a habit of being consistent requires doing. I can plan to be consistent, I can think about being consistent. The only way to be is to do.
