Determination Dictates Direction
Written by Kathryn Lang
“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” – Gail Devers
Michael Phelps won more gold medals in a single Olympics than any other competitor. He beat out the record held for decades by Mark Spitz. During interviews he was often questioned about how he did what many believed to be undoable. He always replied that he never expected NOT to do it.
Creating great content for your website often comes down to that kind of sheer determination. You have to be so focused that the possibility that you might NOT do it never even comes into play.
Develop a Determined Mindset
- Surround yourself with others that believe anything is possible. Nothing puts a damper on a dream faster than someone telling you it is not possible. You want to be encouraged and lifted up at every step of the journey. Find some like-minded people that will tell you that determination will get you where you desire to go.
- Stop feeding the negatives. Doomsday predictions will slow down your desire to step out and chase that dream. It is always good to be knowledgeable about issues, but feeding the fires 24 hours a day will only leave you depressed, disgruntled and distracted from where you are supposed to be going.
- Settle on the dream. Know what you want and let that begin to take root in your heart and mind. The more you grow that dream, the harder it will be for others to deter you from making the dream a reality.
- Surrender to being different. “We have never done it that way before,” has killed more dreams than anything else. Expect people NOT to get what you are doing and you will be free to do it.
Things are different when you are turning a vision into reality. Growing a dream requires stepping out of the normal and expected so that you can begin to venture down the road to extraordinary.
Determination will push through places that talent, skills and even resources may not be able to go alone. Stand firm in the pursuit of what you are doing and you will find that you can create content to reveal that journey.
Visitors to your website want to learn from what you provide on the pages. You need to present something more than mere words. Content that motivates readers to return and to share starts with a heart determined to reach a dream. Develop the content that will grow your website by following your dreams with a determined focused that will lead you (and your visitors) to the desired finish.
